Jewelry Care Guide
Thank you for choosing NOVELLE VOW. We are committed to using enduring materials, from precious metals to premium moissanite and lab-grown diamonds. To ensure your jewelry maintains its lasting brilliance, please follow this care guide.
Daily Wearing Recommendations
1 Last On, First Off
- Put jewelry on after applying makeup, perfume, and lotions.
- Remove jewelry first when returning home to avoid contact with chemicals or accidental impacts.
2 Avoid Contact with Chemicals
- Keep jewelry away from chemicals such as perfume, hairspray, detergents, and bleach, as they may cause metal tarnishing or damage to gems.
3 Protect from Physical Impact
- Remove jewelry during sports, housework, or gardening to prevent scratching, impact, or deformation.
4 Be Cautious with Water
- Avoid wearing jewelry while swimming (chlorine in pools can damage metal and gems), bathing (soap can cause dullness), or contacting hot spring water.
Care Focus for Different Materials
Moissanite
Cleaning Method: Clean your moissanite just as you would a diamond. Use mild soapy water with a soft toothbrush or a non-acidic commercial jewelry cleaner. Rinse and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Precautions: Moissanite is highly durable and resistant to scratching. An ultrasonic cleaner is generally safe for most moissanite jewelry pieces. However, avoid harsh impacts.
Lab-Grown Diamonds
Cleaning Method: Gently clean with mild soapy water and a soft brush, then dry with a soft cloth.
Precautions: Lab-grown diamonds share the same physical properties as natural diamonds, featuring high hardness and wear resistance. However, avoid severe impacts with hard objects. Ultrasonic cleaners can be used for deep cleaning.
925 Sterling Silver
Prevent Tarnishing: Store in a sealed bag or jewelry box with an anti-tarnish strip when not worn to avoid air exposure.
Cleaning Method: Gently polish with a silver polishing cloth or use a dedicated silver cleaner.
Precautions: Avoid contact with sulfides (e.g., hot spring water) to prevent blackening.
Gold Vermeil / Silver Gold Plated
Maintaining Shine: Avoid friction with sweat, chemicals, and hard objects to extend the plating's lifespan.
Cleaning Method: Wipe gently with a soft, dry microfiber cloth; avoid chemical cleaners.
Rhodium Plating
Cleaning Method: Clean with mild soapy water and a soft brush, then rinse and dry with a soft microfiber cloth.
Precautions: The plating may wear off over time with prolonged wear. Please contact us for replating services.
Cleaning and Storage
1 Regular Cleaning
- We recommend a simple clean monthly using mild soapy water and a soft brush. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
- For intricate designs or jewelry with multiple stones, professional cleaning is advised.
2 Proper Storage
- Store each piece of jewelry separately in a soft pouch or individual compartment to prevent scratching.
- Keep the storage environment dry and avoid direct sunlight.
Regular Inspection
- Self-Inspection: Regularly check if stones are loose, prongs are worn, or chains have become thin.
Important Notes
- Avoid wearing jewelry while sleeping, cooking, or during strenuous activities.
- If jewelry contacts chemicals or shows abnormalities, clean and dry it immediately.
- For intricate craftsmanship or delicate designs, consider reducing the frequency of daily wear.
- Do not wear jewelry in the ocean as cold water may cause fingers to shrink, potentially leading to loss of rings.
